Based On A True Story

Based on a True Story: This is the first episode in a series of episodes to feature cases that also have movies based on them.  Our own Based on a True Story series.  Some movies are much more obscure than others but with a little searching you can find them on your streaming services or possibly on youtube.  For each episode: I will tell you all about what happened for real in the case and give you the name of a movie that it is based on it.  Also, stay tuned at end of each episode as I will give you some bonus movie names that you can look up and watch, and of course, are based on true crime stories.

The True Crime Movie that was based on this first case is:  And Never Let Her Go (2001 movie) Starring: Mark Harmon, Kathryn Morris, Paul Michael Glaser and Steven Eckhold. The movie is Based on the Ann Rule book of the same name.  I found the movie on TubiTV at the time of research for this recording.

The Sorceress and the Noblewoman

I have something a little bit different for you today.
I have two true crime stories that go way, way back.
One is about a supposed Sorceress from the 1300’s in Ireland, and another is an extremely cruel and evil noblewoman in 1700’s Russia. Catherine The Great makes an appearance today in one of these true crime stories. I wonder if you can guess which one.
I thought it might be nice to go way back in history and get a break from anything even close to current or present day. I hope you enjoy it.

True Crime Cautionaries

There are a lot of reasons people are interested in real true crime stories. For one thing, it’s been going on since the beginning of crime, which would be the beginning of time. And then there is the Knowledge that comes with all that. There are things that can be learned from it.  True Crime, Following True Crime, Watching the bad things on the news, can be important. It can help. It can help you and others in your life.

When I was a teenager and driving my own car for the first time, I wasn’t watching the news, and we didn’t have smart phones or social media then. My family members told me about how bad men were deliberately hitting women’s cars with their cars to get them to pull over….and some women were raped, some killed. The idea being they would pull over to see the damage on the car, to exchange insurance information, etc. The whole Don’t Stop, Drive to the Police Station thing started then, at least as far as I know. People who cared were telling young people not to stop in these situations. Drive to somewhere safe, a police station if possible.

So you can learn things from True Crime.

There are a lot of women that listen to their intuition. We need to.
